Short-Term Stay After Hospital Admission
Patients that have been admitted to a hospital for a minimum of three nights may have the option for a short-term stay in our center to receive 24-hour Nursing care and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy up to seven-days each week. Patients may also request a short-term Respite in-patient stay for periods of a few days to several months.

In-Patient Residential Stay
Patients that require a permanent in-patient stay may be admitted from the Hospital, Assisted Living Facility or Home after receiving an admission order from their primary physician.

Specialty Programs

[review] => This place is a joke. I would not recommend anyone to work here. They hired me and after I received my first check I was pulled into HR where my manager lied on me about taking breaks . God forbid you get hurt while at work , they totally ignored my injury. The Male cook works without a hair net or beard net. The dishes are dirty and Country the cook still uses them. His whole coat sleeve Is prepared into the food. He also still cooks in hotel pans that our regional manager told him not to cook in as well.
This is who I was railroaded for, what a total disgrace. His friend is Ray the manager of the kitchen so I totally understand why they would retaliate against me for absolutely no good reason. They don’t believe in following the NC state laws for breaks and were mad that I took my two free 15 minute breaks. The HR lady is playing right along with the managements retaliation against me. Stop waisting good employees time and do better. Kelly your just a straight up bold face liar and incompetent with know real managerial skills what so ever and no integrity. Human Resources is complicit with the lies you told on me today.

[review] => My mother was originally admitted here for a rehab stay following a fall and showed great progress until she had some heart issues that required surgery and was admitted to another facility in Lincolnton following this surgery. My mother quickly declined at the other facility and wanted to go back to her “home” referring to Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. After a few bumps in the road, she was admitted back and our mother and our family were treated very well with very minor incidents during her second stay. I cannot say enough about her CNAs and most of her care by the nurses. Any issue that would arise during this second stay was promptly taken care of by Steven Kerley, who was absolutely amazing with anything that needed to be addressed. My mother passed away two days ago with hospice care at her home, but we do feel that this facility was good to her in her final days !

My mom sink never was clean in her room , the bathroom was shared and filthy all the time. Her room floor never was mopped they should get rid of that old women that waiting for retirement she cleans absolutely nothing. The building is showing it's age but it is clean and welcoming. Our loved on has been at other rehabilitation that were modern and fancy where everything else was in turmoil. [review] => We got to bring our loved one home today with the warmest send off from the staff! I as a family member cried tears of joy and of appreciation for the hard work they put in to take care of my mother in law. She had some hospital set backs and was here over 100 days. We always felt welcomed and everyone always speaks to you in the halls. The CNA’s, Nurse’s, OT and PT on the 100 hall we could never thank you enough for caring for her the way you did. The administration staff goes above and beyond to make sure that everything is going smooth with the stay. Of course not everything is unicorns and rainbows but they worked with us and listened to correct the issues fast. To the custodial staff thank you for your hard work with keeping her in clean laundry and her room clean. The facility is always nice and clean and smells like coconut on most days. To the kitchen staff thank you for keeping her pleased with her changes in her menu when she wanted something else. We would like to personally thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking care of Bea like she was your family! You are all amazing people and hold a dear place in our hearts. ❤️

[review] => I would not recommend this location for rehab of your loved one. It’s a very old, run down looking facility. The staff is sub par. The beds are hard as a rock. The furniture and rooms are dated and the entire facility smells of urine. My loved one left there with a major bedsore. The staff did not respond in a timely manor. The neglect in this facility needs to be addressed. They are short staffed. In fact the staff knows how short staffed the facility is to the point where the CNA’s will tell you that despite their lack of care, they won’t be fired because they know how desperate the facility is for their help. They know they won’t be fired. I was disgusted by this facility and regret ever having let my LO be transferred here for rehab. Don’t make the same mistake that I did.

[review] => My mother has been at Lincolnton Rehab for almost 2 years, and we are very happy with her time there. The extra activities they have give her the will to get up and do things, like getting her nails done, playing bingo, physical therapy, and other little parties they have at times. She looks so forward to those things. But most importantly, she likes the food.
The staff is easy to communicate with and if I need to talk to someone about her care, Roger and others are available to address any concerns. I can usually call and speak with a nurse who is directly involved with her care. Another thing I appreciate is that her Nurse will call me with any changes in her medication, or concerns over her doctors visit, or just anything they need to talk with me about. So I do appreciate that they keep in touch so well.

The rehab people started with me and did not let up. I don't know last names but Kyle, Kari Kristen judy Truman and several more helped me so much. Kyle and Kari were my main people and they were on it!. Everyday!
God bless them. There attitudes are phenomenal and they are going to make sure to get you where you need to be. I love them. The nurses are wonderful

[review] => I had a hip replacement and needed rehabilitation . I chose to go to Lincolnton Rehabilitation for my needed therapy. Let me tell you, they do not play around, you are up and walking around. They have two gyms with so much equipment, anything that you could need for any kind of therapy. The staff was great! The CNAs were great! The nurses were fantastic. My daughter was so pleased, she has now placed her father there. I give them a five star rating. My neighbor fell and broke
his hip and he too will be going to Lincolnton Rehabilitation.

[review] => So my mom went there recently following surgery for an orthopedic injury. Communication is a joke. The day my mom got to the facility, I called to check on her and asked for her phone number. The receptionist gave me the phone number. I called repeatedly for about 30 minutes. No answer. Finally, I called the main number back to have someone check to be sure she could reach the phone. Whoever checked for the phone came back to the line and said there's no phone in that room. WTH! How are you gonna give out the phone number and there be no phone there for her to receive calls. The previous patient didn't need one!?!?
Mom is there for rehab, but she wasn't being walked like she should have. She was in a wheelchair each time I went to visit her. This is not a true rehab facility. I think it's a catch-all. A few days before her upcoming orthopedic appointment, I told the nurse she needed to have her hair washed. It hadn't been washed since she has arrived. The nurse was like I will find out why she didn't get a shower yesterday. I never heard the outcome of that. When I met her at the ortho appointment, her hair had been washed.
She had the visit with her orthopedic surgeon on her 8th day there and he said she could be discharged. Thank God! Of course it took them forever to do the paperwork, so she finally left on day 12th day. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because they did feed her and give her meds., or at least I hope so. Workers were rude. Cindy in particular, was hateful when I needed to reschedule the ortho appointment that no one told me about! She said that wasn't her fault, it was the hospital's fault. Whatever! Maybe let family know that she's leaving the building. I guess Cindy was discussed because she was going to have to call transport and change the date.
In essence, avoid this facility at all costs! Communication is poor, the facility is in desperate need of updates. Walls need to be repaired and painted, ceiling tiles need replacing. There's a ton of updates and repairs that are needed. Definitely not what we're used to!

I was looking for a place for my son who is already 17 years old and I found this place that a few years ago I went and I remembered how bad they treated me that I came out crying.My son has dystonia and needs therapy because his muscles contract and when the orthopedist referred us they did not want to work with us and they denied us the services at that time my son had medicare but they treated us very very badly! They said they did not work with children even though he was 15 years old. They were lying !!! They did not want to work with my son because he is very sick and he has involuntary movements and they surely did not want to deal with him.I hope I never have to go back there!

[review] => As a member of the medical community, things are always different when it's your loved that now needs help. When it came to deciding if I would take my husband home or let him go to a facility for further rehab, my husband was completely on board with with whatever I felt like he needed, and although I live less than 12 min from 5 facilities in Gastonia, Lincolnton Rehabilitation was the only facility I even considered for him. All the nursing homes are struggling with staffing during this time, but doesn't seem to effected this team of nurses and cna's. They were always available to met his needs, even when they seemed tired, they were always as my husband said many times, "You know you have some the nice people here. The is pretty good, but it is not your cooking honey!" He would say, "If I say I don't feel good to one person, it seems like 5 people would be back in here asking if I am OK and checking on me." I am extremely proud and appreciative of all the work,ti.e and effort done by the PT department and the OT department as as the nursing and dietary staff, that enable him to return ho.e after 22 days. No facility is perfect, but if want to make your loved one is cared for and all concerns listened to and addressed, this is the place to go. Job well done Lincolnton staff!!

[review] => My mom was admitted to rehab and was there for 10 days and was not given any water the whole time she was there she had a drs appointment with her own cardiologist and was transported to her appointment some 20 miles away with an empty oxygen tank and was almost unconscious and was unresponsive when she arrived at her appointment in that shape her dr admitted her to the hospital and upon examining her she had not been bathed the whole time she had been there and we were told it was one of the worse cases of dehydration they had ever seen within one day in the hospital she is almost back to herself thank goodness she had a drs appointment that day I hope her dr files charges on this place

[review] => TERRIBLE! If you have ANY love for the person you're placing here, AVOID! My 89-year-old, legally blind NAVY VETERAN father with end stage COPD and dementia was placed here for respite care. After caring for him consistently for an extended period of time, I welcomed the much needed rest.
I made sure to lay out VERY clear instructions for the staff, even placing labeled daily outfits in the closet and posting his daily routine on the bulletin board in his room. The staff did nothing but complain. He had on the same clothes for two days. They dropped off his food tray and placed it where he couldn't comfortably reach it (never offered to roll his wheelchair to the dining area so he could socialize), and he had not been washed for days!!!!
The state should shut this place down immediately! Most people that care choose facility placement as a last resort when they can't manage the needs of their loved one anymore. This is beyond SAD!!!
Needless to say, I cut my respite short, as I am afraid they would have killed him before my 5 days were up. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

[review] => My Dad was there following hip surgery that had major complications. I never dreamed he would return home. The nursing and therapy staff were incredible. Each day I saw improvement, I could not believe it. When I took him to his follow up appointment with his surgeon, he was so impressed and surprised at his improvements. My Dad is Home and back to his routine, better than before the surgery. I would highly recommend this rehab for anyone. Thank you to Todd and his team, we will be forever grateful.

[review] => My father were there 7-8 months. Some of the CNAs/ nurses was some what caring, and some just lazy. My dad went in for physical therapy etc. After 4 months he became long term resident. He had multiple falls.First few days he ended up in the hospital due to blood in urine etc. Long story short, he weren't giving water like he should have. Nor really helped with being fed when he couldn't really feed himself, nor giving himself something to drink.Laundry half taken care of and some of his clothing went missing. Requesting to keep under shirt, long sleeves and bottoms on him at all times. My request was ignored. None of the staff such as administrator,D.O.N, Unit Manger, Social worker, etc. ever asked how was things going, or if I or my dad needed anything. Go there late evening 7:30-9:00pm it takes forever to get someone to the door. The room half clean. A few times the bed weren't made. One occasion my loved ones and two other patients left in the dining hall alone. Times there would be only one CNA working a hall.Some of the patients would have to wait seen like forever to get changed or help.

My mother was originally admitted here for a rehab stay following a fall and showed great progress until she had some heart issues that required surgery and was admitted to another facility in Lincolnton following this surgery. My mother quickly declined at the other facility and wanted to go back to her “home” referring to Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. After a few bumps in the road, she was admitted back and our mother and our family were treated very well with very minor incidents during her second stay. I cannot say enough about her CNAs and most of her care by the nurses. Any issue that would arise during this second stay was promptly taken care of by Steven Kerley, who was absolutely amazing with anything that needed to be addressed. My mother passed away two days ago with hospice care at her home, but we do feel that this facility was good to her in her final days !

I have a family member that has spent a lot of time there, and he has been treated exceptionally well by the staff. They treat him like family. He loved it there. 5 stars!
